STEM CLUB

STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and math. These four fields share an emphasis on innovation, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The aim is to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning and collaboration skills.

 

Come join our STEM Club where each week we’ll do fun projects to learn about:

  1. Basics of physics

  2. Basics of chemistry

  3. Basics of mechanical, civil and electrical engineering

  4. Basics of coding/ computer science

  5. Basics of general computer literacy

  6. Basics of robotics

The program will be led by Dr. Dre (Andrea Abel Van Es). She has a Bachelors in Aerospace engineering and a Masters in Robotic Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Every Tuesday afternoon, from 4pm to 6pm at Bistro Langosta

Ages: 6-12

All activities will be guided in English and in Spanish

 

The STEM Club will be funded by the Tamarindo Children’s Community Library and with the support of Bistro Langosta. Contributions for materials and donations of second hand tablets are welcome at all times. Half of the spots will always be reserved for local children.

STEM significa ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas. Estas cuatro áreas comparten un énfasis en innovación, solución de problemas y pensamiento crítico. El objetivo es promover mentes inquisitivas, razonamiento lógico y capacidad de colaboración. 

 

Unete a nuestro STEM Club donde cada semana realizaremos proyectos divertidos para aprender acerca de:

 

  1. Física básica

  2. Química básica

  3. Ingeniería mecánica, civil y eléctrica

  4. Programación básica

  5. Conocimientos básicos de informática

  6. Robótica básica

 

El programa va a estar dirigido por Dr. Dre (Andrea Abel Van Es). Ella tiene un Pre-grado en Ingeniería Aeroespacial y una Maestría en Ingeniería Robótica de la Universidad de Sydney en Australia.
